Lectio Divina, which means divine reading in Latin, is an ancient monastic way of reading the scripture. It not only incorporates the mind, but also the heart and soul. There are many ways to study the Bible but the Lectio Divina method is one of the most spiritual nourishing ways for me, especially when I practice it in community.

As such, I’ve decided to offer it to you as a four week gathering of only 9 individuals to help you reconnect with God, one another, and yourself during these crazy times. 

The holiday season feels like the perfect time to start this group as the holidays are all about cultivating gratitude and connection. And even though this year’s holiday season is different due to the pandemic and other immense worldwide events, I’m hoping that this little group will still spark that gratitude and connection, possibly even more than previous years.

Here’s some more FAQ about this four week gathering: 

Who is this class for? This class is for 9 individuals who want to explore a new way of studying the scriptures in order to connect with God and their souls. You do not have to be Christian and you don’t need to have a background in studying the Bible. You just have to be open to the presence of God in your life. We will understand scripture passages at a much deeper level, allow them to speak to our personal lives, and share bits of our life journeys with one another.

When will this be happening? We will meet every Wednesday morning beginning November 18th for four weeks (11/18, 11/25, 12/2, and 12/9) at 10 a.m. PST. These will be 60-90 minute sessions, depending on the flow and needs of the group.

How will you meet with us? Through Zoom. I’ll provide all registrants with a link beforehand. This means you can join in from anywhere as long as you have a laptop, computer, smartphone, or tablet with a camera and a microphone.

Why are you only limiting this to 9 people? Small groups work best for these kinds of spiritual exercises, giving us all a chance to speak, listen, and get to know one another. We also begin the class with a vow to honor one another’s voices and keep confidentiality.

What’s the cost? $150 for the entire course. You will receive a full refund if you’re not really into it after the first session. No refunds are available after the second session begins. 

What will you be doing with us and how can we prepare? I will guide you through the entire Lectio Divina process, from start to finish. All you have to do is show up and be open. To get the best experience, you’ll need a designated quiet space, free from interruptions, and with a good cell or internet connection. 

What will I receive? 1) A PDF of the learnings we all came to realize during each session will be emailed to you immediately following each weekly session. 2) A partner to check in with weekly between our sessions. 3) A new way of studying scripture, which you can use for the rest of your life to reconnect with God.
